Reading Corps Tutor

Make a difference in your community and join our team as a Reading Corps Tutor. St. Mary’s School is looking for tutors to help students who need extra help with reading.

Reading tutors meet one-on-one with students in kindergarten through third grade to help them become better readers. With training and on-site coaching, we’ll prepare you to help kids succeed.

This is an AmeriCorps member position with Reading Corps. Together, we’re on a mission to help more kids become strong readers because kids who read have the power to succeed!

St. Mary’s School in Tracy, MN is seeking an energetic, caring, and faith-filled Full Time Food Service Director/Head Cook excited to provide students and staff with healthy nutritious meals and snacks in a Catholic school starting in in the 2024-2025 school year.

Purpose of Position: 

  • To provide students and staff with healthy nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with the school’s Wellness
    Policy, federal and state nutritional guidelines, and abide by the safety
    procedures as outlined by federal, state, and county programs. Work should reflect the school/parish mission statement.

  • 35 hours per week (10 months or approximately 175 School Days)

  • Work schedule to follow that set by St. Mary's Catholic School

Instructional Responsibilities

  • Help create a productive, positive, and harmonious work environment.

  •  Be present where needed, ready to work for all scheduled hours and as needed to
    meet responsibilities. Includes recognizing when situations require more effort, putting in more time when needed, satisfying responsibilities in a timely manner, providing an example of punctuality and attendance and generally ensuring that all responsibilities are taken care of in a professional and timely manner.

  • Regular Duties (Include but are not limited to....)

    • Preparing meals for the students & teachers

    • Giving Direction to the Kitchen volunteers to help with preparation and set-up.

    • Serving meals to the students and teachers.

    • Supervising and helping with the clean-up after meals.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Plans and analyzes menus for St. Mary's School to ensure that UDSA Meal Pattern and nutritional requirements are met.

  • Complete daily reports

  • Plans menu adaptations for children with special needs

  • Maintains a purchasing system consistent with USDA and state purchasing
    guidelines

  • Order all food and supplies

  • Inventory all food and supplies

  •  Oversees the administration of the school’s free and reduced price meals program
    according to federal regulations.

  • Prepares, monitors and administers the food service budget. Monitor and
    analyzes all revenue sources.

  • Reviews and authorizes all program expenditures.

  • Assesses customer preference, industry trends and current research to develop a long range plan that facilitates continuous program improvement.

  •  Coordinates all equipment maintenance and building repairs with the appropriate
    school district personnel

  • Ensure that established sanitation and safety standards are maintained

  • Check food temperature daily and record

  • Check freezer temperatures daily and record

  •  Keep kitchen and cafeteria in an orderly and clean state

  • Inform workers of all changes in regards to safety, health and food service

  • Develops a marketing plan that promotes the school nutrition services to students,
    parents and other school personnel and community

  • Complete all Cafeteria Reporting in a timely manner. (Ex. the Administrative
    review) corrective actions and any other reports that need to be done.

  • Oversee, with the direction of the Principal, that all Minnesota Department of
    Human Services paperwork is current and up-to-date with new requirements

  • Maintain and complete all Minnesota Department of Human Services licensing
    requirements and paperwork.

  • Complete background check, code of conduct, and VIRTUS training.
